Akira Energy is looking for Offshore E&I Technicians for a Turnaround project in the Netherlands.

Project Type: Turnaround (TAR)
Duration: 24 August – 31 August


Department Overview

You will be joining an offshore Electrical & Instrumentation team supporting a planned turnaround campaign. The team is responsible for maintaining the integrity and compliance of electrical and instrumentation systems, ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with offshore and ATEX regulations.


Position Summary

The Offshore E&I Technician is responsible for carrying out electrical and instrumentation work to resolve ATEX inspection findings during a planned offshore turnaround. Working alongside the offshore maintenance team, you will inspect, repair, and maintain electrical and instrumentation equipment while ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards.


Key Responsibilities

Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance

  • Carry out maintenance and repair activities on offshore electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Resolve ATEX inspection findings in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards.
  • Inspect, test, and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation equipment.
  • Perform maintenance on hazardous area (Ex) installations and associated equipment.

Technical Support

  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, loop diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Identify faults and implement effective repair solutions.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with project procedures and industry regulations.

Safety & Documentation

  • Follow offshore safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and isolation procedures.
  • Complete maintenance records and inspection documentation accurately.
  • Report completed work, defects, and any deviations identified during execution.

Function Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Offshore Electrical & Instrumentation Technician.
  • Experience with offshore electrical installations.
  • Experience with instrumentation systems and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated experience working on ATEX / hazardous area installations.
  • Good troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.

Required Certifications

  • COMPEX (Competency in Explosive Atmospheres) Certification
  • STIPEL VP (Vakbekwaam Persoon) Certification | NEN 3410 VP
  • Valid BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training) or similiar
  • Valid Offshore Medical
