Akira Energy is TenneT's main supplier of Offshore Client Representatives. Our professionals act as TenneT's eyes and ears in the field, safeguarding quality, progress and safety during offshore installation and execution.
As the main supplier of all Offshore Client Representatives for TenneT, Akira Energy supports the successful delivery of critical offshore grid infrastructure by providing experienced professionals who act as TenneT’s eyes and ears in the field. Our scope includes offshore representation, contractor coordination, site supervision, progress monitoring, quality assurance, HSE awareness, interface management and accurate reporting throughout offshore installation and execution activities.
Through our extensive network within the offshore renewables industry and our tailored approach to project preparation, we ensure the consistent quality of our services. Before mobilisation, our Offshore Client Representatives receive a comprehensive project briefing and are prepared in close collaboration with TenneT. By aligning expectations, responsibilities and project-specific requirements down to the smallest detail, we enable our representatives to arrive fully informed, well prepared and ready to contribute from day one.
TenneT is at the centre of the Dutch offshore wind build-out. Its current focus is on delivering the offshore transmission infrastructure that will connect the next generation of North Sea wind farms, particularly IJmuiden Ver, Nederwiek and Doordewind, to the Dutch high-voltage grid.
The Doordewind offshore wind area will be developed in the northern part of the North Sea. With a capacity of 4 gigawatts, it will supply green electricity to millions of households and businesses. TenneT will connect the wind area to the electricity grid through two underground cable systems, each with a capacity of 2 gigawatts. This will be carried out with careful consideration for people and nature and in close cooperation with local stakeholders.
both substations form 700 MW grid connections for the Hollandse Kust Zuid offshore wind farm, located approximately 18–36 km off the Dutch coast. The substations collect electricity generated by the wind farm and transmit it to the Dutch high-voltage grid.
Akira Energy supports TenneT by providing offshore client representative services, including offshore supervision and execution support for the Offshore Grid NL programme.
The Nederwiek 3 offshore grid connection is being developed to transmit approximately 2 GW of offshore wind capacity from the Dutch North Sea to the onshore high-voltage grid at Geertruidenberg. The connection is also planned to integrate with LionLink, a proposed hybrid interconnector that will combine the transmission of offshore wind energy with electricity exchange between the Dutch and British grids.
Akira Energy supports TenneT’s Offshore Grid NL programme by providing offshore client representative services, supervision and execution support during offshore operations.
TenneT is developing the 2GW offshore grid programme to connect large offshore wind farms in the Dutch North Sea to the national high-voltage grid.
Using standardized HVDC connections, each system can transport around 2 gigawatts of renewable electricity from sea to shore. Current work is focused on key locations such as Borssele/Sloegebied for IJmuiden Ver Alpha and Nederwiek 1, the Maasvlakte for IJmuiden Ver Beta, IJmuiden Ver Gamma and Nederwiek 2, and Eemshaven for the future Doordewind connections.
The programme is central to TenneT’s role in the Dutch energy transition: it creates the offshore transmission backbone needed to bring large volumes of wind power ashore and support the electrification of industry, ports and households.
Akira Energy is proud to support Next Geosolutions by providing experienced Offshore HSE specialists. Our strong collaboration reflects a shared commitment to quality, safety and successful offshore project delivery, and provides a solid foundation for continued partnership in the future.
