Akira Energy is looking for two experienced Offshore Firewatch personnel for an offshore assignment in the Dutch North Sea.
As an Offshore Firewatch, you will support the safe execution of maintenance and hot work activities on an offshore production platform. Safety is the highest priority, particularly during activities involving potential fire, gas, or ignition hazards.
Job Description
The Offshore Firewatch is responsible for continuously monitoring the work area before, during, and after high-risk activities such as welding, grinding, cutting, and other hot work.
You will ensure that the work area remains safe and that all requirements of the Permit to Work and applicable safety procedures are followed.
Key Responsibilities
Act as Firewatch during hot work and other high-risk activities.
Continuously monitor the work area for fire, gas, and other potential hazards.
Perform and/or support gas measurements where required.
Ensure the correct firefighting and safety equipment is available and ready for use.
Identify unsafe situations and immediately intervene or stop work when necessary.
Maintain clear communication with the work party and other offshore personnel.
Respond appropriately in case of an emergency.
Participate in firefighting and emergency response activities when required.
Carry out post-work fire checks to ensure no residual ignition or fire hazards remain.
Support general offshore/deck activities when required and when Firewatch duties allow.
Required Certification
Candidates must have the following valid offshore certificates:
Offshore Medical
VCA or MIST
NOGEPA 0.5 – Basic Offshore Safety OR OPITO
NOGEPA 1.4 – Gas Measurement
NOGEPA 2.6 – Basic Member Fire-Fighting
Profile

Have previous offshore experience.
Have a strong safety awareness and are comfortable working in high-risk environments.
Are confident in identifying and communicating unsafe situations.
Can remain alert and focused during Firewatch activities.
Are comfortable working as part of an offshore team.
