Akira Energy is seeking a skilled and experienced Offshore Crane Operator to join our dynamic team working in the offshore energy sector. As an Offshore Crane Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of cranes on offshore platforms, ensuring the successful execution of lifting operations in compliance with industry regulations and company safety standards. The role involves working on a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off schedule, providing a balance between work and personal time. You’ll be working for several clients during the offshore campaigns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Crane Operations: Operate various types of cranes to lift and move heavy equipment, supplies, and materials on offshore platforms.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Conduct pre-operational safety checks on cranes and associated equipment.
- Communication: Coordinate lifting operations with the rigging team, deck crew, and other relevant personnel. Communicate effectively with the control room and other operators to ensure seamless operations.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and inspections on cranes to ensure they are in proper working condition. Report any defects or issues promptly to the maintenance team.
- Emergency Response: Be familiar with emergency response procedures and actively participate in emergency drills. Respond promptly and efficiently to emergency situations as required.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including lift logs, equipment inspections, and any incidents or near misses. Complete required paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
- Training: Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices. Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other crew members, including riggers, deck crew, and supervisors, to ensure efficient and safe crane operations.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Certification: Valid Offshore Stage 3 Crane Operator certification, or equivalent.
- Experience: Proven experience as an Offshore Crane Operator, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with various types of cranes, lifting equipment, and rigging techniques. Understanding of safety regulations and procedures in an offshore environment.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to convey information clearly and concisely.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and lift heavy loads. Good hand-eye coordination and depth perception.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues to achieve common goals.
- Adaptability: Willingness to work in a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off schedule and adapt to changing work environments.
