Akira Energy is looking for an experienced Senior Operator / Teamlead to support an oil & gas operator in the Netherlands.

This is a long-term opportunity for a senior offshore operations professional who combines strong hands-on production experience with the ability to lead a team and take operational responsibility.

You will work across offshore production facilities in the Dutch North Sea, including Normally Unmanned Installations (NUIs). During offshore periods, you will work on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation, taking a leading role during planned campaigns and operational interventions. During onshore periods, you willl work 6 days on / 6 days off. 

The position offers a varied scope, combining offshore operations, team leadership, troubleshooting and close coordination with the Central Control Room (CCR) and onshore organisation.

Your Role

As Offshore Senior Operator / Teamlead, you will take a leading operational role during offshore interventions and campaigns.

You will coordinate a multidisciplinary team of approximately 3–6 people and take responsibility for the safe and efficient execution of operational activities on the installation.

This is a hands-on position. Alongside coordinating the team, you will remain closely involved in production operations, process monitoring, troubleshooting, isolations, Permit to Work and the safe execution of maintenance and intervention activities.

The underlying FIM role combines leadership of offshore intervention teams with control room operations and preparation of future intervention campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary team during offshore campaigns and interventions.
  • Independently coordinate operational activities on Normally Unmanned Installations.
  • Operate and monitor offshore production and process installations.
  • Coordinate operational activities from the local control room.
  • Support safe start-up, shutdown, isolation and reinstatement of process systems.
  • Lead first-line troubleshooting and respond to technical and operational issues.
  • Validate and coordinate Permits to Work (PTW) for activities performed under your responsibility.
  • Maintain close communication with the Central Control Room and onshore organisation.
  • Coordinate with maintenance technicians, contractors and other disciplines.
  • Monitor operational conditions and identify potential technical issues at an early stage.
  • Ensure activities are carried out in accordance with applicable HSSEQ requirements and operational procedures.
  • Provide clear reporting on operational status, abnormalities and completed activities.
  • Support the preparation and planning of future offshore interventions and campaigns.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for an experienced offshore professional who is comfortable taking responsibility and leading others in an operational environment.

You bring:

  • An MBO Level 4 qualification or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Preferably a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an operations responsible role.
  • Strong offshore oil & gas production and operations experience.
  • Experience working on offshore production facilities, preferably Normally Unmanned Installations (NUIs).
  • Experience leading or coordinating teams during offshore operations.
  • Strong knowledge of process operations, isolations, Permit to Work and safe systems of work.
  • Experience with DCS/ICSS and control room operations.
  • Strong HSSEQ awareness and a safety-first approach.
  • The ability to remain calm and make sound operational decisions.
  • Strong communication, organisational and analytical skills.
  • The ability to work independently and take ownership of operational activities.
  • Fluent Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
  • Valid offshore certification and medical clearance.
  • Availability to start at short notice.

Experience with SAP or other ERP systems, work preparation and campaign planning is considered an advantage.
