Geotechnical Engineer

Akira Energy is looking for 2 experienced Geotechnical Engineers for an upcoming offshore geotechnical investigation campaign in German waters.

This is a technical offshore role for engineers with hands-on experience in seabed and downhole CPT operations, offshore borehole drilling, soil sampling and geotechnical investigations.

The Role

As Geotechnical Engineer, you will support and supervise offshore geotechnical investigation activities, ensuring accurate data acquisition, monitoring testing operations and maintaining the quality of geotechnical records throughout the campaign.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and support offshore seabed and downhole CPT operations.

• Monitor geotechnical data quality and ensure accurate field records.

• Support borehole drilling, soil sampling and piston coring activities.

• Oversee ball penetrometer testing and review test results.

• Coordinate with drilling crews, survey personnel and laboratory technicians.

• Prepare geotechnical logs, daily reports and technical documentation.

• Ensure compliance with offshore HSE procedures.

Requirements & Experience

• Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related discipline.

• Proven experience in offshore geotechnical investigations.

• Hands-on experience with seabed CPT and/or downhole CPT operations.

• Knowledge of offshore borehole drilling, soil sampling and geotechnical testing.

• Experience with geotechnical data acquisition, interpretation and reporting.

• Good command of English.

Certifications

• GWO Offshore Sea Survival certificate preferred.

• Alternatively, BOSIET/OPITO offshore survival certification is accepted if no older than 2 years, subject to project approval.
