E&I Work Preparator / Coordinator

Akira Energy is looking for an E&I Work Preparator / Coordinator in Alkmaar, The Netherlands.

Department Overview

You will be joining a multidisciplinary project team supporting offshore platform modification activities. Working closely with engineering teams, contractors, and offshore personnel, you will ensure Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) work packages are fully prepared, compliant, and ready for safe execution.

Position Summary

The E&I Work Preparator / Coordinator is responsible for reviewing, coordinating, and preparing Electrical & Instrumentation work packages for offshore modification projects. Acting as the link between engineering and execution, you will work closely with contractors to resolve technical queries, ensure work packs meet project standards, and support the safe and efficient delivery of offshore activities.

Key Responsibilities

Work Preparation & Coordination

• Review and verify E&I work packages prepared by third-party contractors.
• Ensure work packs are complete, technically accurate, and compliant with project and safety standards.
• Coordinate with engineering teams and offshore contractors to resolve technical queries and execution issues.
• Support day-to-day project execution by providing technical guidance and work preparation support.

Technical Support

• Review technical drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and other engineering documentation.
• Verify materials, equipment, and work scope before execution.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable project procedures, industry standards, and offshore regulations.

Documentation & Planning

• Maintain accurate work package documentation and project records.
• Monitor work package progress and communicate updates with project stakeholders.
• Support planning activities to ensure work is executed safely and efficiently.

Function Requirements

• MBO Level 4 qualification in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience as an E&I Work Preparator, Coordinator, or similar role within the onshore or offshore industry.
• Experience with offshore technical installations, work preparation, and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of LV and HV electrical installations, motors, and transformers.
• Experience with instrumentation systems, including valves, actuators, DCS, PLCs, and industrial networks.
• Experience working with maintenance management systems such as SAP, Maximo, or Oracle.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
• Good command of both Dutch and English, written and spoken.
• Living in the Netherlands.

Required Certifications

• VCA Basic or VCA VOL (Safety Certificate for Operational Supervisors)
• BOSIET 0.5A – Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training
• H₂S 0.8 NOPEGA (Hydrogen Sulphide Safety Training)

Preferred Experience

• Experience supporting offshore platform modification or brownfield projects.
• Experience with Siemens or Toshiba PLC systems.
• Previous experience coordinating third-party contractors during offshore project execution.
