Job Description
Akira Energy is looking for an Offshore Roustabout
As an Offshore Roustabout, you’re the all-round deck hand who keeps operations safe, tidy, and moving. You’ll support drilling/production teams, handle deck logistics, and uphold a strong safety culture in a close-knit crew working in challenging conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Load/unload supply vessels; support lifting operations (rigging, banksman duties).
- Stage, move, and secure tools, tubulars, and materials.
- Housekeeping and basic maintenance: cleaning, sanding, painting, greasing.
- Assist floor operations under direction of the Floorhand/Crane Operator.
- Perform LMRA/Task Risk Assessments; participate in toolbox talks.
- Follow Permit to Work (PTW) requirements; report hazards and near misses.
- Manage waste according to environmental procedures.
- Support helideck operations as HLO when assigned, ensuring safe helicopter movements and passenger/cargo handling.
What You Bring
- Experience in offshore, maritime, or heavy-industry environments is preferred; motivated starters considered.
- Mandatory certifications (or willingness to obtain before mobilization):
- Valid offshore medical (OGUK/NOGEPA)
- BOSIET/FOET including HUET
- OPITO Banksman & Slinger
- NOGEPA 2.6 – Firefighting Team Member
- NOGEPA 1.1 – Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO)
- VCA (VOL) or equivalent (e.g., SCC)
- Nice to have: H₂S training, Working at Height.
- Physically fit; comfortable working at height and in all weather.
- Team player with strong safety mindset and hands-on attitude.
- Good command of the Dutch language is a must
