Job Description
Akira Energy is seeking experienced Onshore Riggers to join our dynamic team for ongoing onshore projects throughout the year.
The role involves working with lifting operations, ensuring the safe and effective rigging of heavy equipment and machinery as per project specifications. You will play a crucial part in the preparation, execution, and completion of onshore construction, maintenance, and operational projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform rigging and lifting operations in compliance with company procedures, industry standards, and safety protocols.
- Inspect, maintain, and operate rigging equipment such as slings, shackles, and hoists.
- Assist in assembling and disassembling structures, machinery, and other heavy components.
- Collaborate with crane operators, supervisors, and other team members to ensure efficient and safe lifting operations.
- Conduct pre-lift checks to verify rigging setup and equipment functionality.
- Adhere to risk assessments, lift plans, and method statements.
- Ensure proper load distribution and secure attachment of loads.
- Maintain detailed logs of lifting operations and report any issues or malfunctions.
- Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings.
- Respond to emergencies and troubleshoot rigging-related issues on-site.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience as an Onshore Rigger in construction, energy, or related industries.
- Valid rigging certifications (e.g., Level 1-3 Rigger or equivalent).
- Knowledge of lifting equipment, load calculations, and rigging techniques.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards, particularly LOLER and PUWER regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical fitness and ability to work in challenging environments.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Requirements
- Valid certifications: VCA or equivalent safety certification is required.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and have access to transportation.
- Valid Rigging & Slinging certificates (ABVL-VVL-H (SOG)
- Strong understanding of rigging techniques and sfety procedures.
- Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
- Good command of the Dutch and English Language.
- Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and travel to various project locations.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
