Full time

Akira Energy is looking for an experienced HR Advisor for a long-term contractor position within an international organisation in the energy sector.

As HR Advisor, you will combine hands-on HR support with tactical and strategic HR responsibilities. You will work closely with the HR Manager and support managers and employees across a broad range of HR topics, from employee relations and performance management to HR policies, employment legislation and organisational development.

This is a varied position for an experienced HR professional who enjoys working independently, advising different levels of an organisation and contributing to the continuous improvement of HR processes and policies.

The Role

As HR Advisor, you will be part of a small and experienced HR team based in Alkmaar.

Working closely with the HR Manager, you will provide practical HR advice and guidance to managers while contributing to broader HR initiatives across the organisation. You will translate business objectives and organisational developments into effective HR actions and ensure that HR policies and procedures are applied consistently.

The position offers a good balance between day-to-day HR advisory work and involvement in longer-term HR projects and organisational developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide HR advice and guidance to managers on a broad range of operational and tactical HR matters.
  • Advise on HR policies, employment legislation, employee relations and performance management.
  • Support managers with promotions, talent development and long-term absence cases.
  • Monitor and analyse relevant internal and external HR developments and trends.
  • Work closely with the HR Manager to review, maintain and update existing HR policies.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new HR policies, programmes and initiatives.
  • Translate business objectives and organisational strategies into practical HR actions.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, social security regulations, compensation and benefits policies and other relevant labour regulations.
  • Review HR policies, procedures and systems and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the consistent implementation of HR policies and procedures throughout the organisation.
  • Work closely with payroll to ensure employees are compensated correctly and in accordance with employment agreements, benefit plans and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee information across HR systems.
  • Support HR-related projects and organisational change initiatives.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for an experienced HR professional who combines solid HR knowledge with a practical and business-oriented approach.

You are comfortable advising managers and employees at different levels of the organisation and know how to balance company objectives with employee interests and applicable legislation.

You communicate clearly, take ownership of your work and are able to operate independently while remaining a collaborative member of a small HR team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Approximately 5–10 years of relevant HR experience.
  • Practical experience in a broad HR generalist or HR advisory role.
  • Good knowledge of HR best practices.
  • Good understanding of Dutch employment legislation and labour regulations.
  • Able to communicate and advise effectively at different organisational levels, including management, team leaders and employees.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Experience with project, people and/or organisational change management.
  • Business-oriented, organised, flexible and proactive.
  • Able to work independently and take ownership of your responsibilities.
  • Comfortable working as part of a close and collaborative HR team.
  • Professional written and spoken Dutch and English.
  • Currently living in the Netherlands.

Experience within an international, technical or energy-related organisation would be beneficial.

You do not necessarily need to meet every requirement. We are equally interested in professionals who bring a strong HR foundation, the right level of experience and the motivation to further develop within the role.

What Is Offered?

You will join an international organisation operating within the energy sector, where you will work in a professional but informal environment with short communication lines.

The assignment offers:
