Offshore Crane Operator & Materials Coordinator
Akira Energy is looking for an Offshore Crane Operator & Materials Coordinator for a Production Platform in the Netherlands.

Department Overview
You will be joining the offshore operations team, supporting the safe and efficient movement of materials, equipment, and personnel on a production platform. Working closely with offshore operations, logistics teams, vessel crews, and helicopter services, you will play a key role in ensuring all cargo handling, lifting, and logistics activities are carried out safely and in accordance with offshore regulations.
Position Summary
The Offshore Materials Coordinator is responsible for coordinating offshore logistics, cargo handling, lifting operations, and helideck activities. The role ensures materials are delivered, stored, and transported efficiently while supporting offshore production, maintenance, and turnaround activities. You will also assist with crane operations and ensure all logistics activities comply with company procedures and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics & Materials Coordination
Coordinate the receipt, inspection, storage, and dispatch of offshore materials and equipment.
Prepare and inspect containers for offshore transport, ensuring cargo is correctly secured for sea transport.
Register cargo movements and prepare transport manifests and Dangerous Goods (DG) documentation where required.
Coordinate cargo movements with onshore logistics teams and supply vessels.
Participate in logistics planning meetings and provide operational support for offshore activities.
Crane & Lifting Operations
Perform routine and non-routine offshore crane operations.
Load and unload supply vessels safely and efficiently.
Ensure lifting operations are carried out in accordance with approved lifting procedures and lifting plans.
Verify lifting equipment certification and readiness before use.
Support lifting operations as Person in Charge (PIC) when required.
Offshore Operational Support
Support maintenance and turnaround activities by ensuring materials and equipment are available when required.
Assist with daily planning meetings and communicate logistics priorities.
Identify potential logistics constraints and provide practical solutions to support offshore operations.
Helideck Operations
Support helicopter arrivals and departures in accordance with offshore procedures.
Carry out pre-flight helideck inspections.
Coordinate the safe movement of personnel, baggage, and cargo during helicopter operations.
HSSE & Compliance
Maintain high housekeeping standards across deck and logistics areas.
Follow all Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) procedures.
Comply with Permit-to-Work (PTW) and SIMOPS requirements.
Report hazards, unsafe conditions, and incidents in line with company procedures.
Function Requirements
Primary technical education (LTS) or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years' offshore experience on production platforms or similar offshore installations.
Experience coordinating offshore logistics, materials handling, and cargo operations.
Experience operating offshore cranes.
Good knowledge of offshore lifting operations and Dangerous Goods (DG) requirements.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Good command of both Dutch and English, written and spoken.
Currently living in the Netherlands.
Required Certifications
NOGEPA 0.5/BOSIET – Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training
NOGEPA 1.2 – Offshore Crane Operator Certificate/Sparrows Stage 3
H₂S (Hydrogen Sulphide) Training
Valid Offshore Medical Certificate
