Job Description
Akira Energy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Offshore Wind Turbine (WTG) Technician to join our team in the dynamic and growing offshore wind industry. As an Offshore WTG Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of wind turbines, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. This position requires a strong background in both mechanical and electrical systems, as well as comprehensive knowledge of offshore safety practices. Full certification in Global Wind Organization (GWO) standards and valid medical certification are mandatory.
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and conduct repairs on offshore wind turbines to maximize operational efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Mechanical and Electrical Expertise: Possess a strong understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems associated with wind turbines, including gearboxes, generators, control systems, and other critical components.
- Diagnostic and Technical Skills: Utilize diagnostic tools and technical expertise to identify and resolve faults in a timely manner, ensuring optimal turbine performance.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and standards during maintenance and repair activities. Prioritize safety as the top consideration in all work tasks.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs. Provide detailed reports on findings and completed tasks.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other technicians, engineers, and project managers to coordinate activities and ensure efficient project execution.
- Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergency situations, troubleshoot issues under pressure, and implement corrective actions to ensure the safety and reliability of the wind turbines.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: A degree or certification in a relevant field such as Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- Experience: Proven experience as a WTG Technician in the offshore wind industry, with a track record of successful maintenance and repair projects.
- Certifications: Full Global Wind Organization (GWO) certification is mandatory. Possess a valid medical certification.
- Technical Skills: Strong technical skills in both mechanical and electrical systems associated with wind turbines. Familiarity with SCADA systems is a plus.
- Safety Conscious: A strong commitment to safety with a thorough understanding of offshore safety regulations and procedures.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities and the capability to make quick decisions under challenging conditions.
