Location: Offshore – Various Locations
Job Type: Full-Time/Contract

Job Summary:
The Offshore Gangway Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the gangway system used for the transfer of personnel and equipment between vessels and offshore installations. This role is pivotal in ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and compliance with industry standards and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
– Operate and manage the offshore gangway system in accordance with safety protocols and operational procedures.
– Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of the gangway to ensure its operational readiness and safety.
– Coordinate with the vessel master, offshore installation manager, and other personnel to facilitate safe and efficient transfers.
– Respond to emergency situations and implement contingency plans as necessary.
– Maintain accurate logs and records of gangway operations, inspections, and maintenance activities.
– Participate in safety drills and training sessions related to gangway operations and offshore safety.
– Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
– Work closely with the safety officer to identify and mitigate potential hazards related to gangway operations.

Qualifications:
– High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical or vocational training is a plus.
– Proven experience as a gangway operator or in a similar role in offshore operations.
– Familiarity with offshore safety practices, standards, and regulations.
– Certified in offshore safety and emergency response training (BOSIET, HUET, etc.).
– Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
– Excellent communication and coordination skills.
– Ability to work in a challenging and physically demanding environment.
– Flexibility to work irregular hours and rotations in remote offshore locations.

Physical Requirements:
– Must be physically fit to perform manual labor in various weather conditions and sea states.
– Ability to lift and move heavy equipment as required.
