Akira Energy is looking for Offshore Mechanical / Torque & Tensioning Technicians for an offshore project in the Netherlands.

Department Overview

You will be joining a specialist offshore mechanical team supporting maintenance and turnaround activities on offshore oil & gas installations. The team is responsible for maintaining the integrity and reliability of piping systems through mechanical maintenance, flange management, and precision torque and tensioning activities.


Position Summary

The Offshore Mechanical / Torque & Tensioning Technician is responsible for carrying out mechanical maintenance and precision bolting activities on offshore piping systems. The role focuses on the safe execution of torque and tensioning work, ensuring all mechanical connections are completed in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and offshore safety requirements.


Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Maintenance

  • Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on offshore piping systems and associated equipment.
  • Assemble, dismantle, inspect, and maintain piping and flange connections.
  • Support planned maintenance and turnaround activities to ensure equipment reliability.

Torque & Tensioning

  • Carry out hydraulic torque and tensioning activities on piping and flange connections.
  • Verify flange alignment, gasket installation, and bolt integrity before commencing work.
  • Ensure all bolted joints meet project specifications and quality requirements.
  • Operate and maintain calibrated torque and tensioning equipment safely and effectively.

 

Function Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Offshore Mechanical Technician.
  • Previous offshore oil & gas maintenance.
  • Experience working with offshore piping systems and flange connections.
  • Proficiency in hydraulic torque and tensioning methods and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Physically fit to work offshore, including working at heights.
  • Strong commitment to safe working practices and quality workmanship.

Required Certifications

  • Valid BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training).
  • Torque & Tensioning Certification.
  • Scape Training.
  • Valid Offshore Medical.
