The ideal candidate will act as a key, hands-on, multidisciplinary “spider in the web” and serve as the “technical conscience,” bridging our client's Sales and Operations teams. This role involves organizing Engineering & Project Management processes, balancing market-driven commercial requirements at the start of our client’s primary process with the operational challenges that arise later on. This candidate will be the steady and organized technical manager guiding all engineering and manufacturing parties involved.

This full-time position will be based primarily at the headquarters in IJmuiden, with occasional travel to subcontractors, suppliers, and client meetings, which may sometimes be international.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategies in engineering and project management to achieve business objectives.
  • Design Management: Oversee safety, reliability aspects, and change management for the B2W system.
  • Project Management: Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and develop a team of technical professionals to meet company goals.
  • Sales Collaboration: Actively contribute technical insights in sales meetings with customers.
  • Engineering: Deliver hands-on results by preparing technical and operational documents (mainly Concept & Basic, not Detailed layouts, arrangements, calculations) and visualizations to support limited technical changes and commercial proposals.
  • Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with internal colleagues, clients, contractors, suppliers, engineering firms, and certification bodies to ensure design consensus and project progress.
  • Risk Management: Identify, evaluate, and develop mitigation plans for potential risks.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all deliverables meet safety, quality standards, laws, and customer expectations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly evaluate and optimize processes for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.

The candidate will work closely with the client’s Head of Business Development/Sales at the start of the primary process and the Head of Operations at the end, reporting directly to the General Manager.

Candidate Profile:

Compensation:

  • Join a driven, enthusiastic, and informal team atmosphere!
  • Competitive salary with comprehensive benefits.
  • Opportunities for professional growth through relevant training and courses.
