Akira Energy is looking for a Head of Mergers and Acquisitions to lead our clients Mergers and Acquisitions team.
This role presents a unique opportunity to shape the growth and success of their organization within the dynamic renewable energy industry.

Our client is a pioneering force in the energy transition across Europe. Their mission is to accelerate the reduction of Europe’s reliance on fossil fuels, and we have successfully established a portfolio of onshore wind and solar projects.
At the end of 2023, they’ve completed the construction of their first solar park and wind farm, which are now operational and exporting power.

To maximize their impact, they focus on markets that are underserved by capital and renewable expertise, driven by a team with a long history of successful development and construction of major renewable projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. M&A Strategy:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive M&A strategy aligned with the company’s overall business objectives and growth targets.
  • Identify and evaluate potential acquisition targets, partnerships, and investment opportunities within the renewable energy sector.

2. Deal Structuring and Negotiation:

  • Lead the end-to-end deal process, including deal sourcing, due diligence, financial modeling, and negotiations.
  • Collaborate with legal, finance, and other cross-functional teams to structure and negotiate complex transactions.

3. Financial Analysis:

  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including valuation modeling, to assess the financial viability and strategic fit of potential acquisitions.
  • Provide insights into financial risks and returns associated with M&A activities.

4. Market Research and Analysis:

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market developments, and regulatory changes that may impact M&A opportunities.
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging technologies, competitors, and potential synergies.

5. Stakeholder Management:

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including potential acquisition targets, industry partners, and financial institutions.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to present M&A strategies and recommendations.

6. Integration Planning:

  • Develop integration plans for successful post-merger integration, collaborating with operational and functional teams to ensure a seamless transition.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of integration activities, addressing any challenges that may arise.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; an advanced degree (e.g., MSc, MBA) is preferred.
  • Proven experience in leading M&A transactions within the renewable energy or related industries.
  • Strong financial modeling skills and proficiency in deal structuring and negotiation.
  • In-depth knowledge of the renewable energy market, including technologies, regulatory frameworks, and industry dynamics.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
